The California High School Exit Examination (CAHSEE) is administered to 10th grade students and consists of a scale score range of 275-450. The Language Arts portion of CAHSEE consists of five strands of multiple-choice questions: Word Analysis; Reading Comprehension; Literary Response and Analysis; Writing Strategies; English Language Conventions. The assessment also includes an essay. Although 350 is considered a passing score, students should strive to attain a score of proficient or above (380-450) since the goal is to become college ready.
